Understanding Identity Politics

As an inner-city Bible college, it is important to understand the role of the church in the local community. One of the primary roles of the church is understanding politics from a biblical perspective. In the times we are living in, Christians have different perspectives on what constitutes social justice and what the Bible says, rather than what the secular ideologies says.

According to Luke 4:18 the Church is called to be the voice of social justice, both within the church as well as in the local community.

Identity politics is seen in terms of the oppressor v. the oppressed dynamics, in contrast to the biblical viewed which empathizes unityand reconciliation in Christ.

Galatians 3:28 NLT There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
